Information is pivotal for effective communication. It not only informs and educates but also improves efficiency and enhances decision-making. When information combines with technology it truly becomes a potent empowering tool. Information Technology constitutes the use of computers for storing, processing, and dissemination of data and information. In the process, it enables one to break from both physical and mental confinement. Information Technology is an answer for all, be it an expansion of knowledge, modernization of one’s skill set, social networking, financial gains, expertise in one’s vocation, and pursuit of one’s hobbies.

The expansive role of Information Technology got adequately demonstrated during Covid-19. Information Technology facilitated the management of the pandemic in an organized and composed manner. Contact Tracing Applications like Arogya Setu, Caller Tunes (disseminating information), Facial Recognition Technology (while wearing masks), Work from Home, and Fitness and Health Apps, reduced the anxiety generated by the pandemic. Students benefited from Distance Learning and Online Education. Employment opportunities became galore. Online shopping and online deliveries engaged the restless youth. Business boomed in food, retail, logistics, and manufacturing.

Naturally, in education Information Technology has become a much sought-after field. With an array of courses in Cloud Computing, Networking, Software Development, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing and the list goes on. Keeping this zeal for nurturing and advancing one’s personal and professional well-being Rajkiya Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has already taken strides in Information Technology.

At present, this college is well equipped with IT facilities. Each department of the college including the office is provided with a computer and internet facility. The college has IT and BCA labs equipped with 48 and 43 computers respectively along with projectors and an internet facility. In addition to this, we have 10 smart classrooms and a well-equipped library having 7 computers, KYAN, projector, and a television screen. Besides this, the college has Zoology, Botany, and Physics labs equipped with projectors along with 3 classrooms having the same facility. A separate Computer Science department is also running having computers, a projector, and internet facility.

CCTV cameras are installed in all the class rooms and at strategic locations to ensure Safety and Security of the students.
