Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shimla, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with immense patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Dr. Anurita Saxena, followed by a ceremonial march past by the volunteers of NSS, NCC and Ranger Rovers.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the values of patriotism, national unity, responsibility and commitment towards the nation. An on-the-spot quiz on India and its Freedom Struggle was also organised for the students.

The celebration was further enriched by cultural performances that reflected the spirit of patriotism and India’s rich cultural diversity.

The programme concluded on a patriotic note, reaffirming the college community’s solidarity, national pride and commitment towards the nation.
